UFC star Paddy Pimblett is back on Twitter despite previously labelling the social media platform as a "cesspit".

Pimblett, 28, was suspended from Twitter just hours before tapping out Jordan Leavitt at UFC London last July. 'The Baddy' reacted to his ban by urging Elon Musk to go through with his purchase of Twitter and Pimblett got his wish as the Tesla boss took over the platform just three months later.

Since Musk's purchase of Twitter, the CEO has reinstated several high-profile banned accounts such as former US President Donald Trump and controversial kickboxer Andrew Tate. Pimblett is now back on the platform almost a year on from his ban as he tweeted: "I'M BACK. What’s been happening b****es."

Pimblett's decision to re-join Twitter contradicts comments he made before his UFC 282 fight against Jared Gordon in December as he insisted he didn't want his account back despite Musk's takeover. 'The Baddy' said that users on the platform dig through his old tweets and "twist" his words to make him look bad.

"Nah, I don't want Twitter back lad. Twitter is a cesspit, Twitter gets me in trouble," he told reporters including Mirror Fighting. "People interpret things that I say and twist it to make it sound like I've said something that I haven't to make me look bad, when I've never said any of those things. People just misinterpret what I say on purpose to make me look bad. Digging tweets up from 2018 to try and make look bad, I'd rather not have Twitter back as it gets me in too much trouble,

'The Baddy' is very active on social media and often gets into arguments with his critics, admitting he can’t help but reply to trolls who leave offensive comments on his posts. After making his UFC debut last September, ‘The Baddy’ lost his original Instagram account with over 750,000 followers for “violating community rules".

Pimblett's current Instagram account now has 2.5 million followers and hateful messages are still a common theme in his comments section, especially after his controversial win against Gordon. Pimblett's points win was labelled "one of the worst UFC decisions ever" and Gordon claimed he was robbed of a victory against the Scouser.

It's unclear when Pimblett will make his UFC return as 'The Baddy' missed out on a spot at the promotion's upcoming pay-per-view event in London due to an ankle injury. Pimblett, who is yet to face a ranked contender in the UFC, has been called out by top lightweights such as Drew Dober and Renato Moicano for his next fight.
