Tottenham predicted team vs Newcastle: Mourinho makes key Gareth Bale and Lo Celso decision
Jose Mourinho has some big decisions to make as Tottenham Hotspur travel to Newcastle United on Sunday in the Premier League.
Spurs followed up poor displays against Arsenal and Dinamo Zagreb with a more positive performance at Villa Park as they overcame Aston Villa 2-0.
It was a much changed matchday squad in the Midlands that night though and Mourinho will have to decide which players should come back in after the international break.
It's going to be a fine line for Mourinho in judging who is fit and fresh after the international break and what would affect the fragile confidence of the Tottenham team.
Ben Davies and Matt Doherty are both out but Son Heung-min is back and Sergio Reguilon is fit following his knock at Villa Park.
Toby Alderweireld and Serge Aurier are both back following illness and Mourinho also said that Giovani Lo Celso has been working hard over the international break at Hotspur Way to get back to the fitness levels he had before his hamstring injury.
Carlos Vinicius could give way to Son, while at least one of Alderweireld and Aurier could return to the line-up, which would be harsh on Joe Rodon or Japhet Tanganga.Read More Related Articles Read More Related Articles
Tottenham kept a clean sheet at Villa Park but Mourinho could be tempted to bring some experience back into his team.
There is also the Gareth Bale question with the Welshman having provided two important assists on international duty with Wales but having been an unused substitute at Villa Park with Lo Celso preferred for his workrate.
Here's the team we reckon Mourinho will choose for Sunday's match.
4-2-3-1: Lloris; Aurier, Sanchez, Rodon, Reguilon; Hojbjerg, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Lucas, Son; Kane.
