Tottenham Hotspur looking to cash-in on battle for life-long loaner
With the transfer window around the corner and a lot of business that needs to occur at N17, it is positive to be hearing about a potential outgoing transfer.
Even more positive would be the idea that Tottenham Hotspur could get something around £10 million for Cameron Carter-Vickers, a player who has never appeared in a Premier League game for Spurs.Cameron Carter-Vickers – Product of Tottenham Loan System
Cameron Carter-Vickers came to Tottenham Hotspur back in 2014 as a raw, 17-year-old American defender with some potential. After a couple of seasons with the Tottenham youth set-up, Carter-Vickers began a similar journey to many a player, with a series of loan moves.
Despite featuring four times in 2016/17 for Tottenham in the EFL Cup, CCV has never again played for the senior team. Instead for the last four seasons, Cameron has been a long and winding loan journey. Never spending too much time in one place, CCV has seen a lot of teams.
Starting with a loan to Sheffield United in 2017, Carter-Vickers has been loaned out six times by Tottenham. With stints at Ipswich, Swansea, Stoke City, Luton, and most recently Bournemouth, Carter-Vickers has more than 110 appearances in the Championship, according to trasnfermrkt.com.After bouncing around Carter-Vickers may have found a home
Cameron Cater-Vickers started the 2020/21 season as part of the Tottenham Senior team, even receiving a place in the Europa League team. However, by October CCV was out on loan again and then quickly got injured at Bournemouth.
Fortunately, around the turn of the new year, Carter-Vickers found his health and some form and has since gone on to play 26 matches for Bournemouth in all competitions. His performances have been appreciated at Bournemouth and there has been talking of potentially landing a permanent deal with the Cherries.
Although the season ended with Bournemouth falling short in the Championship playoffs, there is no doubting the season was a real success for CCV.Potentially a bidding war for Tottenham man?
If recent reports from SBIsoccer.com are to be believed, there are clubs both in Europe and the States interested in signing up Carter-Vickers. In addition to Bournemouth, Newcastle United, and Anderlecht is reported to be interested in Carter-Vickers and has started discussions with the Spurs.

That same report says that as many as FOUR MLS teams are interested in Cater-Vickers but fails to name any of the teams. With potentially 7 teams interested, a bidding war could begin. Maybe the best part is the fee being discussed. The SBISoccer article noted a 14 million dollar fee, which is not far from the £10 million quoted in theSun.com.
Currently, the market value of CCV is only at about $2.2 million according to transfermrkt.com, so the idea of getting a fee more than five times that amount is promising. Given the need to move players out to create the capital to bring new players in, getting something close to £10 million would be a great deal for Tottenham.
Of course, the transfer market does not open until June 9 lot can happen between now and then. Hopefully one of the things that do occur is CCV, Tottenham, and one of these several teams agreeing on the transfer of the American defender.
