Chelsea fans react to reported interest in defender Thiago Silva
Chelsea have recently been linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have responded by claiming he would be an ideal signing for them ahead of the new season.
The Telegraph claimed on Wednesday that the Blues were weighing up a move for the 35-year-old, who will be a free agent at the end of August when his deal with French giants PSG expires.
The report states that Frank Lampard’s side have been offered the chance to talk about a potential deal and are set to have discussions with the player.

Silva is believed to be prepared to take a wage cut and dreams of experiencing the Premier League for the first time in his career, despite interest in his signature from Italian duo AC Milan and Fiorentina.
The experienced centre-back is focused on playing in this Sunday’s Champions League final against Bayern Munich, but beyond that is available to sign and Chelsea appear to be frontrunners if they want to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Silva looks like he is creeping towards the latter stages of his career, but he’s still capable of performing at the highest level as this season’s Champions League proves and he’s still been a key player in the PSG backline.
The Brazilian is a serial winner that is exactly the type of character that young players in the Blues squad could learn from and it’s no secret that there were serious issues in the centre-back position during the past 12 months.
A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media are convinced the PSG man would be a success if he joined and are keen to see the club secure him on a free transfer.
Here are some Chelsea fans on Silva:
Honestly couldn’t care about his age, he’s everything we need and an immediate upgrade to what we have right now. How likely is this a possibility of happening Si?

We need that leadership and experience defender more than anything, this would be a good deal, 2 years isn’t bad for free transfer. @ChelseaFC should just do this while still looking out for more younger quality options.
