Thiago Silva would love to see Paulo Dybala sign for Chelsea

Thiago Silva has confirmed that he approached Paulo Dybala about the possibility of joining Chelsea, following reports linking the forward with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Recent rumors in the Italian press have suggested that Dybala, a World Cup winner from Argentina, could be heading to Chelsea this summer.

It has been reported that the player has a €12m release clause in his contract with his current club, AS Roma.

While attending a Formula 1 race at Silverstone, Thiago Silva, the captain of Chelsea, spoke to Sky Sport Italia and acknowledged that he asked Dybala about a potential move.

"I saw Paulo Dybala here, they [the media] talk about him coming to Chelsea. I've talked with him and asked him if he is coming.

"He is a world class player. I would love to play with him and it would be a massive signing. Let's see."

Dybala joined Roma last season after his contract with Juventus expired, but he has been plagued by injuries since the transfer. Throughout the 2022/23 season, the forward missed 18 games due to various ailments.

However, he still managed to score 18 goals and provide seven assists in all competitions for Jose Mourinho's team, including a goal in the UEFA Europa League final despite not being fully fit.
