Arsenal star Joe Willock and Liverpool loanee Takumi Minamino shine on Newcastle vs Southampton debut – but S

Arsenal and Liverpool loanees Joe Willock and Takumi Minamino wasted no time in making a mark for their temporary clubs.
The pair both scored in the same match with Newcastle, who have taken on Willock for the rest of the season, playing Southampton, who have Minamino among their ranks, on Saturday.

It was Willock and Newcastle who struck first as he scored 16 minutes into his Magpies debut, striking home following good work on the left by Allan Saint-Maximin.
Minamino got on the scoresheet after half an hour as he blasted the ball into the roof of the net with his left foot moments after Jan Bednarek’s own goal gave Steve Bruce’s side a 2-0 lead.
Willock will be feeling better than Minamino though as nine-man Newcastle edged to a 3-2 win over Saints in a classic at St James’ Park.
So Willock and Minamino are both off to a flyer but the same can’t be said for Shkodran Mustafi, who’s on loan with German club Schalke.

Schalke lost the match 3-0, with Mustafi at fault for their first goal after being given the slip by Nordi Mukiele just before half time.
Marcel Sabitzer and Willi Orban rounded off the victory for Leipzig as Schalke, who also have Arsenal defender Sead Kolasinac among their ranks for the rest of the season, remain at the foot of the Bundesliga table.
