Siraj. Down the leg, Konstas tucks it towards fine leg for four. Another poor ball, Konstas pushes the ball towards square leg for another four. Ends the over with much better lines, nine runs from the over.

Siraj up against Cummins, edges on one bounce, the gully fielder does not collect it cleanly and the pair sneaks in a single. The second ball rises on Washington, hits the shoulder of the bat. BOWLED! This one sneaks through the gate after pitching and castles Washington. India eight down now.

Boland to Washington, beaten! Pitches outside off and leaves the on-rushing batter. Boland troubles Washington throughout the over on the fourth-stump channel. India fails to get a single in the over, leaving Siraj to face Cummins in the next over.

IND vs AUS, 5th Test: Why is India wearing pink kit on day 3?

India wore kits with pink-coloured markings on day three of the fifth Test against Australia in Sydney on Sunday to mark the Jane McGrath day.

Washington against Cummins, FOUR through the gap between third slip and gully. India will take them however they may come. The ball keeps a fraction low too in the over. Carey has to dive to his right on a couple of balls to collect. Washington taps through the off side and sets off for a run, Siraj has to dive to get in as the throw comes in but the mission is successful, Washington will retain strike.

Siraj facing Boland, nudges this past the gully fielder, two runs. Edges the third, but falls short of Webster at third slip. Finishes the over with a wild heave, gets nowhere near the ball. Two runs off it, but more importantly Washington on strike in the next over.

Cummins to Jadeja, FOUR! Width and Jadeja cuts this between gully and point. WICKET! Cummins on the money, pitches on off and lures Jadeja into a poke outside off, gets a faint edge and flies to the keeper.

Boland from the other end. Washington edges the first but lands to gully on one bounce. An appeal for lbw! Washington stands his ground as the delivery nips in and hits his front foot. Perhaps the height and the angle saves Washington there.

Jasprit Bumrah suffered back spasms and did not bowl for a major part of the time India was on the field in the second session. He underwent scans and there is still no official word on his availability on day three.

Although just the third day of the Test, we are very likely to get a result in this contest today. India has a lead of 145 runs and four wickets in hand to set Australia a summit that would be enough for its pacers to defend on this perilous pitch.
