Lincoln City vs Liverpool FC: Carabao Cup prediction, TV channel, live stream, team news, start time, h2h
Liverpool will be looking to continue their 100 per cent start to the season when they travel to League One Lincoln City for tonight's Carabao Cup third-round clash.
The Premier League champions beat ten-man Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday and will be looking to kick on in a competition where they have not been past the quarter-final stage since the 2016/17 season.
Last year's campaign came to an end in the last eight, when a fixture clash with the Club World Cup forced the Reds to put out a youthful side, which was duly beaten 5-0 by Aston Villa.
Lincoln have begun the season in fine form, with two wins out of two in the league, and hammered Bradford 5-0 to set up this tie.
Date, time and venue
Lincoln vs Liverpool is scheduled for a 7.45pm BST kick-off on Thursday, September 24.
This match will be played behind closed doors at the LNER Stadium with no fans due to be present due to government guidelines regarding coronavirus.
How to watch
TV channel: The match will be televised on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football, with coverage starting from 7:30pm.
Live stream: Sky Sports subscribers will be able to stream the match online via the website and SkyGo app.
With a Premier League clash against Arsenal to come at the weekend, Jurgen Klopp is likely to shuffle his pack.
There could be a debut for new signing from Wolves Diogo Jota, while the likes of Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi are expected to get a run out.
The Reds will still be without Joe Gomez and Joel Matip, who both missed the win over Chelsea, as well as Jordan Henderson, who was forced off at half-time in that game.
Liverpool predicted XI: Adrian, Williams, Van den Berg, Phillips, Tsimikas, Milner, Jones, Shaqiri, Jota, Minamino, Origi.
Prediction: Lincoln 1-3 Liverpool
Lincoln have begun the season in excellent form and, presuming Klopp opts to rest Virgil van Dijk, will likely have enough to trouble a Liverpool side playing without a senior centre-half.
However, the Reds should have too much quality at the other end of the pitch, possibly with help from the bench.
Head to head (h2h) history and results
The two sides have played each other on 23 occasions, with Liverpool winning 13, Lincoln five and five games drawn.
However, the two sides have not met in any competition since 1961, when both were Division Two outfits.
