India Medal tally at Commonwealth Games 2022: Check India's position on CWG medal table

Besides the weightlifting and lawn bowls event, India managed to win a medal in judo, table tennis and badminton at  Commonwealth Games 2022.

India won several medal on Day 6 of the Commonwealth Games 2022. India's lawn bowls women's team created history by winning the country's maiden gold medal in the sport while the table tennis men's team managed to defend their title. On Wednesday, Lovepreet Singh and Saurav Ghosal won a bronze medal in 109kg weightlifting and men's singles squash respectively to increase India's medal tally. Judoka Tulika Maan added to the medals tally with another silver medal in women's +78kg category.

Gurdeep Singh and Tejaswin Shankar also added to India's medal tally on Wednesday as they claimed bronze medals in weighlifting and men's high jump respectively. 

Besides the weightlifting and lawn bowls event India also managed to win a medal in judo at  Commonwealth Games 2022. Sushila Devi and Vijay Kumar Yadav signed off their CWG campaign with a silver and a bronze medal in women's 48kg and men's 60kg respectively at the Commonwealth Games 2022 on Monday. Commonwealth Games India medal tally on Day 6

Despite two medals on Day 6, India fell down a place to seventh on the Birmingham games medals tally. The India CWG medal tally stands at five gold, six silver and five bronze medals to take the tally to 18 medals at CWG so far.

India (18 medals: 5 gold, 6 silver, 7 bronze)

India fall down to the seventh position despite winning medals on Day 6. The weightlifting contingent has won the bulk of the medals (10 medals) with three golds, three silvers and three bronze medals. The judo team won three medals in form of two silvers and one bronze medal. The Indian table tennis team and lawn bowls team were the other contributors with gold medals in their event. The badminton contingent won failed to retain their crown and settled for a silver medal making it 18 medals for the nation so far. Tejaswin added another medal in athletics.

Commonwealth Games 2022 overall medals tally 

Australia is currently leading the medals tally with 111 medals which include 42 gold, 34 silver and 35 bronze. England is in second place with 93 medals including 35 Gold, 34 silver and 24 bronze medals. New Zealand is third on the table with 30 medals consisting of 14 gold, 8 silver and 8 bronze medals. Canada takes the fourth spot with 48 medals 12 gold, 17 silver and 19 bronze medals. South Africa completes the top five with 18 medals in total which consist of 6 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze medals.
