Gallery: Year of the Snake pre-match jersey given its first run-out

Chelsea's players wore our limited edition Year of the Snake pre-match jersey for the first time this afternoon ahead of our Premier League clash with Manchester City.

The Year of the Snake jersey is available now exclusively from the Megastore at Stamford Bridge and from our online store.

The renowned artist behind the design is Jacky Tsai, who was born in China and lives in London.

At the base is a silver snakeskin mosaic print, with Chelsea's lion and our rose woven into the fabric.

The golden snake which wraps from the front to the back is in the style of traditional Chinese calligraphy and the route maps out the path of the River Thames through our city.

A limited-edition golden label then marks out where Stamford Bridge is located in the design.
