What Gareth Bale Said To Zinedine Zidane On Farewell Trip To Real Madrid Training

The Welshman is leaving Real to return to Tottenham Hotspur after having a poor relationship with the Real Madrid manager.

Before Gareth Bale left Madrid for London the forward made one last trip to Real Madrid's training ground to say farewell to his teammates, and even Zinedine Zidane.

Bale didn't enjoy the final few years of his spell at the Bernabeu, with Zidane clearly not a fan of the Welshman, and he spent much of his time on the bench.

He nearly left for China last summer but the club blocked the deal at the last minute but he still didn't play often last season. So with his move to Spurs looming you would forgive the 31-year-old if he were a bit bitter towards Los Blancos.

However it seems that wasn't the case. According to Spanish tv outlet Cuatro, Bale visited the training ground on Thursday, said goodbye to his teammates and then said goodbye to the manager and wished him good luck for the season ahead, as he holds no grudges towards the Frenchman.

The Welshman looked to have outlasted the manager when Zidane left following his third European success in-a-row, the first manager to do so in the current era of the competition.

However Zizou was back in charge less than a year later after the failures of Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari and the former Southampton winger played just 20 times last season.

Bale is also being joined by Real left back Sergio Reguilon, who spent last season on loan with Sevilla, in joining Mourinho's team.

Spurs fans will be hoping they can make a positive impact on the team after last weekend's poor opening performance in the league against Everton.
