Arsenal vs West Ham prediction: Aubameyang to make impact for Mikel Arteta's side
Mikel Arteta was 'really pleased' knowing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was going to stay at Arsenal.
The Gabon striker signed a new long-term deal with the Gunners earlier in the week thanks to Arteta's persuading him to stay at the Emirates Stadium on a three-year deal.
It's a big boost for the Gunners keeping their star striker as they hope to return to Champions League football next season and will be relishing the match against 5/1 outsiders West Ham United.
The Gunners are heavy favourites to beat the east London club at 1/2 as Arteta's side look to continue their fine form against David Moyes' side after doing the league double over the Irons last season.
Arteta said: "Obviously I knew what was coming so I was a little bit more relaxed. I am really pleased to have convinced Auba to stay at our club, as well in the terms that we've done.
"With the passion and determination that him and the people around him show to stay at our club, how happy they are with what we have achieved. As well, really pleased to see the reaction of everybody.
"First of all here at Colney at our club and as well our fans, to keeping him."
Aubameyang was the club's top goalscorer last season with 29 goals in all competitions - 22 coming in the Premier League so we can expect more of the same from the former Borussia Dortmund striker this weekend at 8/13 to score anytime with thepools.com.

However, I'm backing him to go that one step further, going bold and backing him to bag a hat-trick at 8/1. West Ham seem to be in dire straits already - especially at the back - so I'm expecting him to be impossible to deal with for the visitor's defence.
So with that, it will be a high scoring match and with Arsenal's defence looking much sharper than last season - to be honest the bar was set very low - I'm backing Arsenal for a clean sheet at 5/4.
Former Arsenal midfielder Arteta will be expecting his side to be clinical in front of goal so you can expect plenty of activity in West Ham's final third - including goals.Recommended bets
- Aubameyang to score a hat-trick 8/1
- Arsenal to win 4-0 18/1
